    Lockdown lifted after shooter reported at Norfolk Naval Shipyard




    A source let us know there was never a functioning shooter at the shipyard. The lockdown kept going a couple of moments. 

    NORFOLK, Va. — Authorities are exploring reports of a functioning shooter at Norfolk Naval Shipyard on Monday. 

    An alarm was presented on the shipyard's Facebook page with a message perusing, "RUN, HIDE, FIGHT." 

    All offices at the shipyard started a lockdown around 11:30 a.m. on Monday. 

    Around 10 minutes after that post, another post was made refering to the "every single clear" wa given and that the lockdown was lifted. 

    13News Now got some information about what precisely provoked the lockdown and if there was a genuine risk or threat to Norfolk Naval Shipyard. 

    A Navy source said there was a miscommunication and there was never a functioning shooter. No different subtleties have been discharged as of now.
